Saturday, June 30, 2012, was the first time I was in the state of New York. I was riding with a friend of mine and my dad going from Canada to Connecticut on a road trip. We left the state of New York by driving in to Massachusetts. (Later on during the same road trip, we passed back through the state of New York again.)

In August of 2019, I was driving with my dad and a friend on a road trip. We arrived in New York from Canada. In New York, we started our first day by visiting the Millard Fillmore Presidential Site in East Aurora.

The next day, our first stop was the state capital building in Albany.

We then visited the Martin Van Buren National Historic Site in Kinderhook.

We then drove to Hyde Park where we stopped at the Vanderbilt Mansion National Historic Site

We then visited the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt and the Franklin D. Roosevelt Library and Museum, also in Hyde Park.

The following day, we started by visiting Lyndhurst Castle in Tarrytown.

We then went to the Sagamore Hill National Historic Sitee in Oyster Bay.

We then picked up my step-mom at the airport and drove into New York City where we stayed at Hotel Edison within one block of Times Square.

In New York City, we also visited Battery Park, the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the National September 11 Memorial, the One World Observatory at One World Trade Center, and the Macy's location at Herald Square. We also had dinner at Keens Steakhouse which has been in business since 1885.

The next day, we visited Rockefeller Plaza, 5th Avenue, Trump Tower, and the National September 11 Museum. We also watched the Broadway musical Hamilton.

On our last full day in New York City, we visited the Empire State Building, walked by the Chester A. Arthur House, visited the Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site, saw the musical Come from Away, and took another walk thru Times Square.

After New York, we then headed towards home via New Jersey.
