After visiting Colorado, I was in New Mexico in August of 2015 for the first time while on a road trip with my dad and a friend.
In New Mexico we visited the Palace of the Governors (the oldest government building in the nation), in Santa Fe (the oldest and highest capital city in the USA). The Spanish built this palace as part of a fortress during the winter of 1609-1610.
Our next stop was at El Morro (also known as Inscription Rock); a great monolith of sandstone on which everyone from indians and conquistadors to missionaries and outlaws have carved their names.
