In June of 2019, I traveled with a school group to Ireland.
After an overnight flight on 6/17, we arrived in Dublin on 6/18. On our arrival day, we did a walking tour of Grafton Street and the Temple Bar district.
On our next day (6/19), we did a guided tour of Dublin including Georgian squares, O'Connell Street, St. Stephen's Green, and Phoenix Park. We then visited St. Patrick's Cathedral and saw the Book of Kells at Trinity College. We finished the day with a Guinness tour. Our first two nights were spent at the Pillo Hotel Ashbourne, The Rath Ashbourne County. On 6/20, we transfered to Galway where we saw the River Corrib and Bowling Green, plus had guided tours of Galway, Connemara, Maam Cross, and Spiddal.
We then spent the evening at the National University of Ireland - Galway Corrib Village. On the next morning (6/21), we traveled via the Burren to the Cliffs of Moher. After touring the cliffs, we visited Bunratty Castle and Folk Park.
Some of the group spent the evenings of 6/21 and 6/22 at Teach de Broc in Ballybunion County Kerry, while the rest of us were at the 19th Lodge around the corner. We were all near the beach. On 6/22, we did a full day excursion around the Ring of Kerry where we vistied the Kerry Bog Village museum, the town of Sneem, saw a sheepdog demonstration, and Killarney National Park.
On the morning of 6/23, we traveled to Blarney and then on to Cork. We visited Blarney Castle, kissed the Blarney Stone, and toured Jameson Distillery. After a guided tour of Cork, we saw the Queenstown Story Exhibition at the Cobh Herigage Centre.
After spending the evening at Cahir House Hotel in Tipperary, we transfered on 6/24 to Kilkenny where we had some free time. Later, we visited the Kildare National Stud Farm. This picture is of Kilkenny Castle.
The night of 6/24 was spent at Esplanade in Wicklow. The next day (6/25) we transfered to Derry and got a guided tour of St. Columb's Cathedral and saw the Diamond War Memorial. These pictures are of the Bog Site and Peace Bridge in Derry.
After a night at Walsh's Hotel in Maghera County Derry, and our visit to Ireland, we visited Northern Ireland; part of the United Kingdom.
We then returned from Belfast to spend our last night at the Knightsbrook Hotel in Trim County Meath, and then we flew home. This picture is of our tour guide.
